Who We Help
Every learner has strengths. Sometimes they just need a different path to show them.
Adapt Scholar supports children, teens, young adults, multilingual learners, homeschoolers, and individuals with diverse learning needs. Some learners need help with reading or math. Others understand the academics but struggle with organization, communication, confidence, or getting started.
We look beyond the difficulty to understand the learner behind it—their strengths, needs, interests, and next steps toward greater independence.

What We Teach
More than academics. Skills for learning, creating, and life.
Learning can take many forms. Adapt Scholar offers individualized support in reading, writing, math, English language development, executive functioning, and life skills, along with specialized professional learning opportunities in guitar, piano, audio engineering, AutoCAD, Revit, architecture, and 3D modeling.
A learner who struggles with traditional academics may discover remarkable strengths when designing a 3D model, recording a song, or seeing a math concept presented visually.
Our goal is to help learners discover what they can do—and build from there.
How Adapt Scholar Works
We don’t start with a textbook. We start with the learner.
Imagine a student who repeatedly fails to turn in assignments. More homework help may not solve the problem if the real challenge is task initiation, planning, or organization.
That’s why we first identify strengths, current skills, challenges, and goals. From there, instruction is individualized and progress is built step by step.
Our learning process follows a simple cycle:
CONNECT → LEARN → PRACTICE → APPLY → REFLECT → GROW
The goal isn’t simply to complete today’s assignment. It’s to develop strategies the learner can use tomorrow without us.

Our Developmental Approach
Our Developmental Approach
Meet learners where they are—not where a number says they should be.
Age and grade level tell us something about a learner, but they don’t tell the whole story.
A middle school student might understand science at grade level while needing additional support with reading, organization, communication, or self-advocacy. Another learner may struggle academically but demonstrate exceptional musical, technical, creative, or visual-spatial ability.
The Adapt Scholar Developmental Competency Framework™ looks at the whole learner across areas such as academics, executive functioning, communication, social-emotional development, independence, self-determination, relationships, and future readiness.
We ask:
What can you do now? What can you do with support? What comes next?

Meet the Founder
Built from years of teaching learners who don’t always fit neatly into a box.
Adapt Scholar was founded by an experienced special educator with more than 25+ years combined in homeschooling and education, a Master’s degree in Special Education, an English Language Learner endorsement, and extensive experience supporting diverse learners and homeschool families.
The idea behind Adapt Scholar grew from a recurring lesson in the classroom: when a learner isn’t progressing, sometimes we need to change the way we’re teaching—not simply ask the learner to try harder.
That belief continues to shape everything we create, from individualized instruction to curriculum and learning resources.

Learning Resources
Learning Resources
Practical tools for the people doing the learning—and the people supporting them.

Not Sure Where to Begin?
That’s exactly what the consultation is for.
You don’t need to know which program, strategy, or type of tutoring your learner needs before contacting us.
Tell us what’s going well, what’s been difficult, and what you hope will change. We’ll talk about your learner’s strengths and needs and determine whether Adapt Scholar may be a good fit.
Sometimes the first step isn’t finding another program.
It’s understanding the learner.
